I went to a politico meeting last night. I was able to ask City Manager John Russo and Vice Mayor Frank Matarrese the status of the GSA and Regional Parks battle.

The City has taken several actions:

1. They have formed a liaison Committee with Regional Parks to oversee all Alameda Park Development.

2. They will be adopting a resolution at next Tuesday's Feb 17th meeting in support of the GSA making the Federal land available to Regional Parks.
3. They will direct there DC lobbyist to contact our congressional delegation to move GSA toward the park idea.

I talked to Frank after the meeting and suggested that we would support the resolution next Tuesday. He said that would help. We discussed this issue last meet, so with your permission I would like to write a letter supporting the Councils approval of the resolution.

FYI: Today's Sun has the story of the City's action on page 8. It is the Isle Say column, but I could not get the link. I like that the City is taking a more aggressive action on this GSA mess. It is not surprising with Trish and Frank on the Council.
