Crown Harbor Homeowner Association
Roof Replacement Project Equipment Placement
When the roof replacement project started at the end of May, A‑One stored its supplies and equipment in parking spots on Kings Road.
Unfortunately this is the exact same spot where that was used for storage for the entire siding replacement/repair project.

Storage of Roof Replacement Project Supplies
To give the residents immediately adjacent to these parking spaces a break from the clutter, at the July 22, 2015 meeting, the Board adopted a plan by unanimous vote to "spread the pain" around.
The determining factors regarding where to locate the supplies and equipment included:
- The supplies and equipment are located in the vicinity of where the work is being performed to maximize the efficiency for the crew.
- The locations required enough space as everything occupies about 6 parking spots.
- Deeded parking spaces were avoided since those are not Association property.
- Blocking the views for units on the greenbelt was avoided.
- Time spent at locations publicly visible was considered as passers-by form an opinion of Crown Harbor, and a positive impression affects property values.

Board's Request to A‑One
With these factors in mind, the Board adopted the following plan:
- The 2 red dots show the location of the supplies and equipment.
-
In this case, that is the parking spots
- between the 21st and 22nd buildings
- across the street from the 24th and 25nd buildings
in the sequence of roof replacement buildings.
-
The supplies and equipment can be immediately moved from where they are now to these 2 locations.
-
These are the designated locations while buildings 8 through 28 are being worked on.
-
When building 28 is complete, the supplies and equipment will be moved to the next location.
- The red dot shows the location of the supplies and equipment.
-
In this case, that is the parking spots across from the 31st building in the sequence of roof replacement buildings.
-
This is the designated location while buildings 29 through 38 are being worked on.
-
When building 38 is complete, the supplies and equipment will be removed as the project will have ended.
The Board recognizes that not everyone will be happy with this decision.
It's like Aesop's fable: "Try to please everyone, and you please no one."
Thank you to the residents on Kings who have put up with the clutter longer than you should have had to.
Thanks in advance to the residents who are about to have a turn in doing so.

A‑One Response to the Board's Request
The Board's request was made prior to the project's accelerated schedule.
Now that the time has been shortened, to keep things as efficient as possible,
the Project Supervisor (Jorge) said he wanted to keep the materials where they are until he completed that section.
So his plan is:
- The red dot shows the location of the supplies and equipment.
-
In this case, that is the parking spots across from building 14
in the sequence of roof replacement buildings.
-
This the designated location until building 17 is completed.
-
The estimated completion for this work is August 28.
At that time (or if building 17 completes earlier), the supplies and equipment will be moved to the next location.
- The 2 red dots show the location of the supplies and equipment.
-
In this case, that is the parking spots
- between the 21st and 22nd buildings
- across the street from the 24th and 25nd buildings
in the sequence of roof replacement buildings.
-
These are the designated locations while buildings 18 through 28 are being worked on.
-
The estimated completion for this work is September 25.
At that time (or if building 28 completes earlier), the supplies and equipment will be moved to the next location.
- The red dot shows the location of the supplies and equipment.
-
In this case, that is the parking spots across from the 31st building in the sequence of roof replacement buildings.
-
This is the designated location while buildings 29 through 38 are being worked on.
-
The estimated completion for this work is October 23.
At that time (or if building 38 completes earlier), the supplies and equipment will be removed as the project will have ended.
Though this was not the Board's original request, it does maximize the efficiency of the crew to help the project complete about a month earlier.
To maximize the number of spaces for Kings residents to use, especially when they need to get their cars out of their garages when their roofs
are being redone, the Board has asked the workers not to park on Kings while the equipment and materials are stored there.
